Packing Shoes for Fall and Winter

When traveling in colder weather, it is essential to bring the least number of shoes possible. Here are some of my favorite versatile boots for my travels.

When traveling in colder weather, it is essential to bring the least number of shoes possible. It can almost be almost impossible to think you can travel with bulky shoes and clothes without checking a bag. When I’m traveling in this weather, the max number of boots I will bring is two (wearing my largest, casual pair to the airport, and a pair of heeled boots and maybe a pair of sneakers depending on if we’re talking about chilly or snowy weather packed in my bag).

When it counts the most, I have found a few options for the most versatile shoes and boots to bring in winter and fall months. I am always looking for new boots, so I will add to this list as I find them!

Aquatalia Harlyn Boots

I recently got these boots for last season and am quickly obsessed. They are incredibly comfortable with the suede exterior, and I love that I can wear them for a day in the office or to a casual dinner. They have quickly become my everyday boots for fall and winter and I can’t live without them. They come in black, light brown, or dark brown for whatever your preference but I personally find the black gives me more versatility.

They are currently on sale on Aquatalia, but if you’re looking for more size options in black you can also check out Zappos.

Tony Bianco Brazen Bootie

When I found these boots, I was looking specifically for ones I could wear to a work meeting that could also work for a night out and these are the perfect pair. They have been frequently sold out on Revolve, but I signed up for the wait list and was able to get them but you can also find them on the Tony Bianco site. While they have a zipper, they are relatively tighter to your ankles but are super soft to make them comfortable enough to wear all day. Plus, the pointed toe look levels them up without being annoying to walk in (which is my frequent complaint about pointed toe boots). If you can get your hands on them, I highly recommend!

Vagabond Boots

I have had these boots for years and can’t say enough good things about them. The rubber sole style provides a lot of comfort but the heel gives them enough style to wear them to the office and to dinner. I love wearing these boots when I want a little height but still want to be able to wear them for my full commute and walking all day in. Plus, the rubber sole gives them some good traction for winter weather. They don’t sell these on the Vagabond site anymore but you can still find them on Amazon for an affordable price. I also in general highly recommend Vagabond in general for more affordable boot options.

Philip Lim Naomi Platform Boots

I am new to Philip Lim with these Naomi 3.1 platform boots but am quickly obsessed with them. I was looking for a nicer pair of leather heeled boots that had some height but were still comfortable enough to walk a few blocks to a nice dinner and these do not disappoint. Being 5’4, I love the platform style that gives me an extra lift while still be able to walk on uneven streets. The gold zipper detailing adds the perfect touch to gives these boots the style and function to last a long time in my rotation. The great news is, they are currently on an amazing sale!
